A celebration of books, reading and imagination at Wilsonia Scholars’ Home.
The month of July was celebrated as Library Month in our school with great enthusiasm and excitement. The aim was to encourage students to develop a love for reading, explore the world of books and understand the importance of libraries in their learning journey.
The month began with a special Library Month display that beautifully showcased the message “Read Today, Lead Tomorrow.” The library and notice boards were decorated with colourful book-themed displays, literary quotes and creative student work.
One of the major activities conducted was a Comprehension Activity, where students read interesting passages and answered questions based on them. This activity helped students improve their reading, vocabulary, comprehension and critical-thinking skills.
As a part of Library Month celebrations, our school library welcomed an exciting collection of new books, adding fresh colours and new possibilities to the world of reading.
The introduction of these books was planned with the aim of encouraging students to discover new authors and develop a lasting love for reading. The collection includes engaging storybooks, adventure tales, biographies, informative books, reference material, and age-appropriate literature, catering to the varied interests and reading levels of our students.
The new arrivals were beautifully displayed in the library, creating an inviting space that immediately caught the attention of young readers. Students enthusiastically explored the collection, browsed through the books, and shared their excitement about the titles they wished to read.
The initiative reinforces our belief that a library is not merely a place filled with books, but a gateway to imagination, knowledge and discovery. Through such initiatives, we hope to inspire our students to read more, think creatively, learn independently and develop reading as a lifelong habit.
The celebration of Library Month thus became even more meaningful with the arrival of these new books—bringing new stories to our shelves and new adventures to our readers.
