World Heritage Day — A Celebration of India’s Rich Heritage

On 17 April 2026, the students of Classes VI–VIII celebrated World Heritage Day with great enthusiasm, creativity and pride.

The celebration brought India’s rich and diverse heritage to life through a wonderful display of colourful charts, creative models and informative exhibits.

The students also showcased the traditional dances of different states of India, beautifully reflecting the country’s vibrant cultural diversity and traditions.

Through this engaging activity, our students explored the richness of India’s heritage and understood the importance of preserving our cultural legacy for generations to come. Their creativity, confidence and enthusiastic participation made the celebration a truly memorable experience.

World Earth Day Celebrated Through a Special Morning Assembly

World Earth Day was observed with great enthusiasm on 23 April 2026 by the students of Classes XI and XII through a special morning assembly. The entire assembly was thoughtfully planned and conducted by the students, reflecting their awareness and concern for the environment.

The students delivered meaningful speeches highlighting the importance of protecting our planet and preserving its natural resources. They also motivated their fellow students to adopt simple and effective ways of caring for the Earth, such as saving water and electricity, reducing waste, avoiding plastic, planting trees and keeping their surroundings clean and green.

The assembly served as an inspiring reminder that protecting our planet is a collective responsibility. The confident participation and thoughtful presentations by the students made the programme informative, engaging and meaningful.

World Book Day: Celebrating the Joy of Reading

World Book Day was celebrated on 23 April 2026 with great enthusiasm across the school. As part of the celebration, students of Classes VI–VIII prepared personal portfolios, giving them an opportunity to creatively express their interests, experiences and individuality.

The highlight of the day was a special Reading Hour that brought the entire school community together. At the sound of the bell, everyone put aside their regular activities and immersed themselves in reading for one full lesson. LEAVE EVERYTHING AND READ! Principal, teachers, students and helping staff all participated in this unique initiative, creating a wonderful atmosphere of reading throughout the school.

The ringing of the bell marked the beginning of a peaceful and enriching journey into the world of books, stories, ideas and imagination. The activity reinforced the message that reading is not merely a classroom activity, but a lifelong habit that broadens the mind and inspires us to learn and explore.

The celebration beautifully reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing curious, confident and lifelong readers.

Inter-House Social Studies Quiz Competition

An Inter-House Social Studies Quiz Competition was conducted at Wilsonia Scholars’ Home on 30 April 2026 for students of Classes III to V. The competition was held among Maratha House, Rajput House, Viceroy House and Mughal House. Each team consisted of three students, with one participant each from Classes III, IV and V.

The quiz comprised four rounds: Audio-Visual Round, Social Studies Question Round, Buzzer Round, and Rapid Fire Round on Current Affairs. The participants displayed commendable knowledge, confidence, alertness and team spirit throughout the competition.

After a keenly contested competition, Maratha House emerged as the winner. The winning team comprised Ahmad Raza (Class V), Anam Wahab (Class IV) and Aiza Mushahid Pasha (Class III).

The event provided students with an enriching opportunity to enhance their knowledge, quick-thinking abilities and spirit of healthy competition.

Inter-House Singing Competition — Independence Day

An Inter-House Singing Competition was organized on 15 August 2026 for students of Classes III to VI as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The competition provided students with an opportunity to showcase their vocal talent, confidence, coordination and love for music.

Two esteemed judges were invited to evaluate the performances: Mr. Anil Saxena and Mr. Dev Sharma. Students from all participating houses performed with great enthusiasm and displayed commendable musical skills.

After careful evaluation by the judges, Rajput House emerged as the Winner House of the competition. As a special recognition of their achievement, Rajput House gave a special performance during the English Recitation and Choral Competition held on 20 August 2026.

The competition was a successful platform for encouraging students to develop their artistic abilities, confidence, teamwork and healthy competitive spirit.

English Wilforum 2026: A Day of Ideas, Expression and Team Spirit

20 August 2026 was a memorable day at Wilsonia Scholars’ Home as the school hosted the English Wilforum 2026, welcoming participants from Classes VI–VIII along with students from the Boys’ and Girls’ Blocks of Wilsonia College.

The campus buzzed with anticipation as young participants came together to take on a series of exciting challenges centred around the English language. The event opened with the introduction of the judges and a clear briefing of the competition rules.

With TED Talk, Creative Writing, Editor’s Desk, Running Dictation and Creative Dialogues forming the five sections of the competition, there was something for every kind of learner. Students had the chance to think on their feet, put their ideas into words, work together and step forward with confidence.

The event was graced by the presence of Director Sir, Dr. Asheesh Santram. Ma’am Principal, Mrs. Shwetangana Santram, Vice Principal, Mrs. Shumaila Khan, and Ms. Neha Khan served as the judges and appreciated the efforts and performances of the participants.

The day concluded on a cheerful note with the recognition of the winning teams from each studio. Individual talents were also acknowledged through special certificates for categories including Most Confident Child, Best Actor, Best Handwriting, Best Presenter and several other accomplishments.

The Wilforum was not simply about winning; it was about giving students a space to step out of their comfort zones and discover what they could do with words, ideas and imagination. The successful execution of English Wilforum 2026 was a result of the sincere efforts of the English Department.

Wilsonia MUN 2026: Young Minds, Global Voices

On 25 August 2026, the campus of Wilsonia College came alive with the voices of young diplomats, thoughtful discussions and spirited debates as students from Classes IX to XII participated in a Model United Nations (M.U.N.) Competition.

The event brought together students from all three branches of the Wilsonia family—Wilsonia Scholars’ Home, Wilsonia College Boys’ Branch and Wilsonia College Girls’ Branch—providing a platform to express ideas, develop confidence and engage with issues of national and international importance.

The M.U.N. featured four committees: Lok Sabha; World Health Organization (WHO); United Nations Security Council (UNSC); and United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Students stepped into the roles of delegates, researched assigned countries and topics, presented viewpoints, responded to opposing arguments and learnt the art of diplomatic negotiation.

The students of Wilsonia Scholars’ Home participated with tremendous enthusiasm and confidence. For many, the experience was much more than a competition—it was an opportunity to step beyond textbooks and experience democracy, diplomacy, leadership, public speaking, negotiation and critical thinking.

English Recitation, Choral Recitation and Project Presentation

Wilsonia Scholars’ Home successfully organised an English Recitation, Choral Recitation and Project Presentation Competition for students from Balvatika 1 to Grade 2. The event aimed at nurturing confidence, communication skills, creativity, expression and presentation abilities among young learners.

Balvatika 1 students presented their recitations, while an English Recitation Competition was organised between Balvatika 2 and Balvatika 3. The little learners participated with great enthusiasm and presented their poems with confidence, expressions and actions.

For Grade 1 and Grade 2, an English Recitation and Project Presentation Competition was organised. Students presented their projects creatively and showcased their understanding, speaking skills and confidence.

A special highlight was the Choral Recitation Competition between Grade 1 and Grade 2, based on the different seasons. Rajput House, Maratha House and Mughal House participated enthusiastically. After a wonderful display of talent and teamwork, Maratha House emerged as the winner. Their confident performance, coordinated presentation and attractive costumes were highly appreciated.
